Azaadi 70: Sang Gattvam – 9th August 2016

For us Indians, English can never be compared with the magic of emotions which our mother tongue can do and to bring that magic in Manav Rachna Campus, a unique event – Sang Gattvam was organised by Department of Student Welfare on 9th August 2016  at 12 noon in A block Auditorium.

The event started with the students as well as faculty / staff members from different faculties of Manav Rachna giving melodic performances in their respective mother tongue, thus celebrating the diversity that we have. Wg. Cdr. P. K. Sinha, Head CRC graced the occasion by his presence. The event showcased a fantastic display of unity in diversity. Songs and poems in a variety of languages like Assamese, Bengali, Manipuri, Punjabi, Malyalam, Maithali and a few others were performed by the present participants of the event. A blend of fifteen languages from one country proved to be a loving experience for the audience.

Prof. I.K. Kilam, Dean Students Welfare was present although and presented a few verses (spiritual Lal Vakhs) in Kashmiri and motivated everyone to participate in such culture-rich events. The event was wrapped up with the vote of thanks given by Mr. Nakshatra Pandey (Coordinator- Students Welfare). Dr. Sridhar Kannan, HOD Orthodontics, Mr. Palash Sen, AGM, CRC, RJ Faheem, RMR, Aditya Jha (7th sem B. Tech CSE, FET), Pooja Kashyap (5th sem B. Tech ECE, FET), Poorva Jairamani (3rd sem BAJMC, FMeH), Ng. Nganthoi Khuman (1st sem MBA, FMS) among others performed and paid tribute to their mother tongue.
