Azaadi 70: India Quiz dated 9th August 2016

It is wisely said, what you do not know you do not appreciate.

So to increase the love for our country, Department of Students Welfare organized the India Quiz on 9th August 2016 in AT – 15,16 at 9 am.

India Quiz upholds the essence of knowledge about our country in every field, in every aspect in depth. With a culture this rich and a heritage this valuable, it becomes one of the most interesting events to kick start the Independence Week Celebration. The quiz was open to all students of the college and received participation from all departments alike, with a total participation of 22 teams (44 participants).

The entire event was divided into 4 rounds. The 1^st round was MCQ round, which had general knowledge questions about India as a whole. Then 2^ndround was a Puzzle round. Each team was given a puzzle to solve, a dialogue formed on solving the puzzle and then they had to identify the movie and the actor. Since everyone has a craze for movies it becomes an interesting and interactive round. Ragini Sharma, 4^th year BDS, MRDC hosted the event. The 3^rdround was divided into 4 categories, namely; mythology, culture, history and geography. Each team had to answer a question from each category. The 4^thround, the final round, had the top 4 teams. It was a rapid fire round; the questions were from current affairs in India.

After a very interactive and informative session of questions and answers, the event came to a close. The teams competed very well, but since only one team could win, Shailesh Rathi (5^th sem B. Tech Mech., MRU) and Kanishk Tyagi (5^th sem B. Tech Mech., MRU) were declared as winners.

We hope to continue holding the quiz and keep spreading the knowledge.
