Awareness and Screening Workshop on Tuberculosis

India has the highest disease burden due to Tuberculosis (TB) in the world. Each year, approximately 220,000 individuals die of TB. Considering this threat, Clan Water Sharks organized awareness and screening workshop on ‘Tuberculosis’ for the employees recently. The program was organized in collaboration with State TB Demonstration Centre, New Delhi. The educational and screening session was taken with an aim to educate and sensitize the staff members about Tuberculosis.

Dr. I. K. Kilam, Dean, Department of Students’ Welfare (DSW), MRIIRS was the Chief Guest for the event and the chief organizer was Dr. Gurjeet Kaur Chawla, Associate Professor and Associate Dean, DSW.

Dr. K .K. Chopra, Director of the Centre, spoke at length about types of TB and its disease burden along with its symptoms, prevention and treatment. The participants keenly participated in the session.
