A workshop was organized by the Department of Applied Sciences, MRIIRS on “Effective E-waste Management” on 15th June 2021, from 11:00 am onwards on the MS-Teams platform.
A workshop Titled “Effective E–Waste Management” was organized by the Department of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies on 15th June, 2021, Tuesday from 11:00 am onwards. The workshop was conducted on MS-Teams platform. The Eminent speaker of the event was Ms. Gurpreet Kaur, worked with UNICEF, World Bank, Aus Aid Projects.
The Workshop planned to spread awareness about how to manage the E- Waste. E-waste is a growing concern and there has been a rapid increase in health hazards because of discharging the toxic materials into the environment. The goal of E-waste recycling providers is to help businesses and organizations in getting rid of obsolete electronics and safeguard the environment.
The event started at 11:00 a.m. on Microsoft Teams. Ms. Shivani Singh, Student-CSE and Ritika Kakran, Student-ME as hosts of the event welcomed all the esteemed dignitaries, expert speaker and participants. An enriched formal introduction about the expert was delivered by the host. The guest speaker Ms. Gurpreet Kaur started her talk by expressing the need of managing E-waste. She addressed the participants by providing a very basic understanding of what the topic exactly is and discussed different challenges of electronic waste. She emphasized that each citizen must be aware of the 3Rs and does best to manage the E- Waste. She explained everything in a very interesting manner, using interesting slides, giving examples of movies. She further thanked the participants for their valuable time and her words of wisdom inspired all participants.
While heading towards the end of the workshop participants actively asked questions related to the topic to clear their doubts and expand their spectrum of knowledge.
A feedback form was also shared with the participants to know their perspective regarding the conduct of the event.
Event was well taken care of by Team of Applied Sciences- Dr. Pooja Khurana, Dr. Arti Saxena, Dr. Sandeep Srivastava and Dr. Kapil Gupta as Coordinators.
At the end, a vote of thanks was presented to the guest and the participants by Dr. Jyoti Chawla, Head of Department Applied Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Technology. She thanked all the resource persons for their valuable contribution towards the great success of the workshop and appreciated the efforts of faculty members of the department. She also acknowledged the all kind support of senior functionaries of MRIIRS.
The workshop turned out to be a quite knowledgeable session as it provided the required insight of the topic to participants. The efforts of the guest speaker and coordination team of the department of Applied Sciences were appreciated by the participants.
