Factory Automation Lab Setup

It is a matter of great pride for the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering to have Mitsubishi Factory Automation Lab sponsored by Mitsubishi Electric India (MEI). The inaugural ceremony of “Mitsubishi Factory Automation Lab” was organized on 26.09.2016.The lab was inaugurated by Dr. Amit Bhalla (VP-MREI) and Mr. Yokoyama (Director-MEI).Mr. Kitamura (GM-MEI), Mr. Hemant Thakur (AGM HR), Dr.Sanjay Srivastava (MD-MREI), Dr. M.K. Soni (ED & Dean, FET, MRIU), Dr. Anita Khosla (HOD, EEE) and other senior dignitaries of MRIU also graced the occasion.

The objective of the Advanced Automation (Factory Automation) lab is to train the students and faculty on Automation and to encourage engineering students to take up this multidisciplinary field as a choice of their Carrier and have hands on experience with latest automation technologies as per industry requirement. The lab has world class infrastructure with latest iQR set up which includes Q series Programmable logic Controller (PLC) ,servo, variable frequency drive(VFD), Graphical operational terminal (GOT)2000 and X-Y Plotter.

Mitsubishi Electric Robotics Lab inaugurated
This is the first robot set-up by Mitsubishi Electric in any North Indian institute. A ‘Mitsubishi Robotics Lab’ was inaugurated today at the A-block of MRIIRS campus in the presence of Mr. Katsunori Ishiku, MD, MEI; Mr. Hisahiro Nishimoto, Director, FAID, MEI; Dr. Amit Bhalla, VP, MREI; and senior dignitaries from Manav Rachna and the Japanese and Indian team of Mitsubishi Electric.
With the installed robot, students at MRIIRS can perform upto six applications. It is a compact 6-axis jointed robot with an optimal arm length and wider range of movement suited for complex assembly and processing tasks. A wide range of applications from transport of mechanical parts to assembly of electrical parts can be performed by the robot.
This is a one-of-its-kind initiative to spread awareness about automation among young students.
PLC and SCADA is gaining all the rage amongst engineering students now days for the better job opportunities and high future prospects. Its interdisciplinary field and beneficial for all students of engineering This is as viable career opportunity for the students to work in automation industries.
SCADA as by its name on the part of supervisory control and data Acquisition systems. It is utilized as a part of developing procedure management criteria and it considers speedy recovery in various situations. Data gathering and control are important for any Automation PLC SCADA procedure and PLC do the part of digestion and SCADA is grouping of gathered data. It can control and monitor the infrastructure and office-based procedure of industries in a decent way

Infineon Centre of Excellence
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS) and Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. to establish an ‘Infineon Centre of Excellence’ at the MRIIRS campus. The purpose of this collaboration is to work on multiple joint projects to nurture India’s future generation of power electronics engineers and to enhance academic and industry co-operation.

Major Software is available for Research, B.Tech. and M.Tech. Projects – Softwares such as Lab View, MatLab, Simulink and Digsilent for Loadflow Studies and Power System Simulation are available.
