Ms. Malini is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education and Humanities. She has begun her career with the institute and completed one year. She has exposure in the literary fields like women and gender studies, reader-response criticism vis-à-vis children’s literature and movies, cinema studies and how the representation of women is controlled and disseminated through Indian films. Areas of particular interest to her are the representations of queer culture and homosexuality in the narratives of women, particularly African-American, subaltern studies and the exploration of marginalisation through minority literature and art forms. In addition to this, ecofeminism as a pathbreaking literary theory piques her interest, in the way it cuts across other kinds of marginalisation, particularly that of the women. She holds her graduation from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University and post-graduation also from Delhi University. She has published and presented many research papers in esteemed international journals and conferences of literary merit. Her current and latest research involves undoing of the layers involved in building literary canons and exploring the alternative approach to canon-formation, beyond the paradigm of exclusivity and value judgements.
