Research Area: Dr. Kiran Gupta is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Education at Manav Rachna University in Faridabad. She has been associated with the field of teaching and education for the past Approx. 19 years. Her exposure to her professional-work in different institutions in India and abroad has provided her with ample opportunities to share her views and thoughts on different topics particularly related to the content of different courses and disciplines—article and assignments. She has had the privilege to attend a month long programme titled ‘Training the Trainers for Enhancing the Skills’ (TRAITS) funded by NUFFIC, a funding agency of the Netherlands at the University of Twente, the Netherlands in May 2005.She has authored a unit for the IGNOU course work on “ET – A System Approach” for the ‘Post Graduate Diploma in education Technology (PGDET) Course’ being run by IGNOU in 2003. She has been involved with Research for the last 10 years and has guided 14 M.Ed. Students of MDU,Rohtak(Haryana) on their dissertations for the successful completion of their course and presently she is guiding doctorate candidates in Education both as a guide and co-guide too. She has been the Coordinator of the ‘Career Counseling & Adolescent Guidance Cell’ at Amity Institute of Education, Saket, New Delhi and has delivered lectures & presentations to approximately 3000 students of more than 20 reputed schools of Delhi to facilitate them in the selection of their school subjects and careers , has Conducted workshops on ‘Communicating Professionally’ & ‘Personal grooming’ for school- teachers of Apeejay School & Red Roses School, Saket, New Delhi. Under the aegis of SCERT, New Delhi, she provided training to the in- service teachers of primary & secondary schools on ‘Teaching of English to the Primary students’, ‘Learning Theories’ & ‘Awareness towards AIDS’. Besides teaching, Dr. Gupta loves to cook, write short stories, counsel adolescents on their personal and career-related problems and read in her spare time with her all-time favorite being ‘Autobiographies of famous Personalities’.
