Brief profile:
Dr A. Jayamani had completed his doctoral degree in 2015 under the supervision of Dr N. Segottuvelan, Alagappa University, Tamil Nadu, where hewas nurtured in understanding the fundamental methodologies of spectroscopic investigations for determination of biomolecular interactions with inorganic complexes.During his PhD, hehas been Junior Research Fellow in DST sponsored project titled “Metallonuclease activity and structural analysis of binuclear metal complexes of pendant functionalized tetraazamacrocyclic ligand”. After which he was also beena Junior Research Fellow in UGC-BSR sponsored RFMS (Research Fellowships in Science for Meritorious Students) Scheme for two years and then Senior Research Fellow till his PhD completion.
He had completedhis two years of postdoctoral researchin the catalysis research group of Stephen O. Ojwach at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. Where he worked on Development of N^O-donor iron, cobalt and nickel complexes as homogeneous/immobilized catalysts for ethylene oligomerization reactions. Also,he has been an Institute postdoctoral fellow under the supervision of Dr J. Sankar at IISER Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh worked on Copper(II) porphyrin functionalized Fe3O4 nanoparticles as a novel catalyst for hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions. Then he worked as a Research Associate in CSIR Project titled “The attenuating ability of ionic liquids against the thermal, chemical and cold-induced unfolding of proteins” under the guidance of Dr P. Venkatesuat University of Delhi, Delhi.
During the past nine years of his research experience (including PhD), hehadpublished 18 research articles in reputed SCI Journals and reviewed many articles for journals like Polyhedron, Photochemistry and Photobiology B, Ceramics International, Process Biochemistry, etc. His research interests are particularly in exploringinorganic compounds for the biological applications, catalysis and drug discovery.
