PhD Courses in Dentistry and Biochemistry
Manav Rachna Faculty of Dental Sciences (FDS) has introduced doctorate courses in dentistry and Basic medical sciences for induction in 2020 batch. The courses will be available in eight dental specialties and Biochemistry. The dental specialties for which PhD courses are available are four seats each in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge, and Public Health Dentistry; 2 seats each in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Pathology, Pedodontics and Oral Medicine and Radiology; and three seats in orthodontics. Four seats are available for Biochemistry. The courses are designed as per UGC Minimum Standards and Procedures for Awards of M. Phil / Ph.D Degree Regulations, 2016 dated 05.05.2016 published in the Gazette of India dated 05/07/2016.

Criteria for Admission
The admission to Ph.D programmes would strictly be done on the basis of regulations contained in the Ph.D Ordinance 8(B) of the Institute available on its website, which is in total conformity with the UGC new Regulations, 2016 for Awards of M. Phil / PhD Degree. An applicant possessing the following qualifications shall be eligible to apply for admission to a Ph.D programme of the Institution:
- A Master’s degree in dentistry with not less than 55% marks in aggregate of a recognized Indian University, or a degree approved by Association of Indian Universities, or any other equivalent qualification to the satisfaction of Academic Council of the Institution.
For admissions, an entrance test will be held on 08-08-2020 (Thursday). The candidates who qualify for the written examination will be given 06 working days to meet the prospective supervisors to discuss their area of research & presentation (From 11th August to 17th August, 2020 in the university working hours). List of supervisors will be provided to qualifying candidates by CDP. The syllabus for the entrance test shall consist of 50% of Research Methodology as Part-A and 50% shall be subject specific as Part-B.
