Manav Rachna University earns its ranking and reputation from the quality of research, it offers to scholars from different disciplines, its faculty, and students. University has ‘Research Clusters’ in different disciplines which serve as the specialized groups to foster research culture across the university. Advanced laboratories equipped with state of the art infrastructure serve as ‘Centres of Excellence’ for conducting research and design- work in the key – areas such as: Solar Energy Applications, Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences, Clean Water Technology, Green Chemistry, Green Polymers and Corrosion Science, Communication Technology, Integrated System Design, Soft Computing, Business Process Modelling and Data Warehousing. Office of Dean Research promotes and facilitates research for faculty of MRU. It provides necessary technical support for designing and creating new products. It caters for advanced training in specialized fields to its faculty members to conduct experiments related to their fields.
MRU also promotes research and innovation at undergraduate level which has been undertaken in collaboration with ACCENDERE Group, a subsidiary of Career Launcher. Here the students are guided and supervised by internal faculty mentors and also by external, specialized-coordinators from ACCENDERE Research Promotion Group. This initiative has shown commendable results in the shape of quality research papers by the young researchers presented at conferences and published in refereed Journals of National and International repute.
Collaborations and networking with Industries and National & International Universities/ Institutes too ensure research in many significant areas. The latest in this regard is the MoU signed with
Su-Kam Power Systems Ltd. in the field of Solar energy.
Our research problems are socially and politically relevant, scientific, technical and interdisciplinary in nature. We prefer areas of great value and interest, which enable us to have fruitful researches. This knowledge created by research invariably leads to innovations, new technologies, commercial products and development of Startups/industries that have a significant impact not only on the reputation of our university but on the country’s economy too.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering is involved in a wide spectrum of research areas. Some of the thrust areas include Digital Signals Processing, Microwave and Antenna, Organic solar cell, Thin film materials, Nanoscale processing for advanced materials and devices, Optoelectronic devices, Diluted magnetic semiconductors, Spintronics and Gas/Chemical sensors etc.

Research in Applied Sciences
The Department of Physics carries research in the fields of experimental and theoretical material sciences. The work includes synthesis, characterization & applications of nanomaterials, and study of band structure and electronic properties of materials using ab-initio methods. The department is also involved in the area of Atmospheric Sciences which focuses on the study of natural phenomenon such as earthquakes, thunderstorms, lightning, solar flares etc. The R&D group of the department has established a Renewable Energy lab which is engaged in developing applications of PV Technology in daily life.

The Department of Chemistry is primarily involved in the areas of Green Synthesis of Nano-particles, Metal Complexes, Heavy Metal Toxicity and its Remediation, Molecular Modeling and Drug Design such as Anti- Cancerous Drugs etc. In addition to this, Water treatment by Chemical, Electrochemical and Green Routes, Green Polymer Synthesis & Characterization, Green Synthesis of Corrosion inhibitors and their studies are also some areas where the researcher’s interest is developing.
