Department of Business Studies, Faculty of Commerce and Business Studies, MRIU conducted an event ‘SURPRISE BIDDING’ under the aegis of the finance club. This activity was successfully organized by BBA (Global) IB students.
Aim of the activity
The aim of the activity was to give an earlier life experience of auction and bidding to the students which give them a practical overview of barter exchange, communication skills and persuading skills.
About the activity
The first round was the elimination round through a written quiz in which a total of 22 teams participated, after which the teams were allotted different companies such as textile, catering, jewelery and automobiles.
For the second round, 12 teams were selected and this round was all about auction and barter exchange trading in which they need to maintain the ratio of 1:3 between specific products and common products consumed by different companies. Studentswere assigned INR 3500 which they can use during bidding with other business utility.
In the third round, top 5 teams were selected depending on their 1:3 ratio and maximum money saved in the business. These selected teams were asked to present their experience and their motive behind their trading and how they made their business profitable.
The students were involved in the activity with full enthusiasm and zest. The respected judges were Ms. Isha Gulati and Ms. Madhumita. The Winner for the event was CHIRAG GOYAL and MAYUR of BBA and the second prize was bagged by DIVJOT and VAIBHAV of BBA.
