Welcome to Media Studies & Humanities Program
The Faculty of Media studies & Humanities (FMeH) is under Manav Rachna International University which is a NAAC ‘A’ Grade accredited University. The FMeH Faculty comprises two departments, namely Department of Journalism & Mass Communication and Department of English.
Our aim at the Faculty of Media Studies is not to limit teaching to structured syllabus but to groom our students to face challenges of the fast growing communication technology and media world. Interactive session through seminars, workshops and class room lectures and hands-on-training prepares our students to face the challenge of transit from academics to industry and readies them for the job markets. Our syllabus is multidisciplinary and emphasizes to encompass all aspects of media and corporate communication. Regular exposure and industry visits coupled with reporting, recording at an in-house studio at the University campus and opportunity to contribute to in-house magazines provides the requisite experience of field work to every student.
FMeH Program Highlights
- FMeH has collaborated with NDTV Worldwide, Broadcast Media Consultants as Knowledge Partners for workshops on various aspects of broadcast journalism for both Programmes of B.A and M.A – Journalism and Mass Communication keeping in view the current technology trends, innovations in journalism and up to date workflows for news television.
- The Faculty has made consistent efforts to introduce research at undergraduate level. To this end, Live Case Studies are conducted with the help of students on topical issues in the first year itself. Surveys of various kinds (Media Habits, Time Spend, Students’ Perception of their University, Voting Campaign Impact, etc.) are used to familiarize the students with basic research tools.

Faculty of Media Studies and Humanities (FMeH) aims at imparting quality education in order to cater the increasing demands of the industry. FMeH has state of the art equipment (camera, edit bay, teleprompter, etc.), a well-equipped broadcast studio and Computer Lab.

Department of Journalism Courses

Srishti Rana: BJMC (2009-12) An alumnus of the Faculty of Media Studies, 2012 batch, MRIU, is today among the galaxy of leading professionals in the fashion and glamour world. She reached the apogee of her chosen career by winning the Miss Asia Pacific crown and is the first recipient of the Dr O.P. Bhalla Pinnacle Alumnus Award.
